Wood Blasting That Restores Real Grain — Without Tearing It Up

Old paint, failed stain, smoke damage, weathering, decades of buildup — our wood blasting process strips it all back to clean, honest wood using a technique calibrated for fiber, not concrete. See the result on your own surface with a free test blast before you spend a dime.

Wood Blasting

What Is Wood Blasting

Wood blasting is a controlled abrasive process that restores wood surfaces — removing whatever’s sitting on top of the grain, whether that’s paint, failed stain, old varnish, smoke and fire residue, or years of weathering and discoloration. Instead of a fixed grit dragged across the surface, we tune the abrasive media and blast pressure specifically for wood fiber, low enough to avoid cutting into the grain, strong enough to strip years of buildup in a fraction of the time hand methods take.

The reason this matters: wood isn’t concrete or steel. Blast it wrong and you’ll etch grooves into softwood, blow out old growth rings, or leave a fuzzy, torn surface that won’t take a new finish evenly. Blast it right and you expose the wood the way it looked before paint, stain, smoke, or age covered it up.

This is also why wood blasting isn’t something to hand off to a general sandblasting outfit running one media type at one pressure for every job. It’s a different skill set — one built around reading the wood species, the surface history, and the structure before the nozzle ever touches it. Wood blasting is one part of our full range of surface preparation services across North Florida and Georgia.

How It Works

Our Process

Consultation

Call (904) 977-0117 and walk us through the project — wood type, surface history, and what condition you’re hoping to reach. We’ll give you a straight answer on what wood blasting can realistically achieve on your specific surface, including anything you should know upfront.

On-Site Assessment & Free Test Blast

We come to your location, inspect the wood, and run a complimentary test blast on an actual section of your surface. You see the real result — grain exposure, tone, texture — before committing to anything.

Transparent, Itemized Quote

Based on the test blast and site conditions, you get a fully itemized quote. No lump-sum guessing, no hidden add-ons. If there’s a more cost-efficient approach that still gets you the result you want, we’ll tell you.

Execution & Full Cleanup

Our self-contained mobile rig sets up on-site and completes the blasting. When we’re done, we collect and haul away all debris — dust, media, and stripped residue — before we leave.

If you want a complete restoration in one engagement, ask about our professional post-blast painting service — we can prime and finish the wood once it’s fully restored.

Why Choose Us

Why Choose Us for Wood Blasting

Free On-Site Test Blast

You don’t have to take our word for how your wood will turn out. We blast a real section of your actual surface first, at no cost, so you can see the grain exposure and tone before you approve the full job.

100% Transparent Pricing

Every quote is itemized and explained. What we quote is what you pay — no surprise line items after the work starts.

Largest Self-Contained Mobile Blast Rig in North Florida

Our full-size, towable rig runs the whole operation on-site — no shop drop-off, no waiting on a second trip for equipment. A larger rig moves more abrasive volume per hour, which means your ceiling, beams, or siding get finished faster with less time tied up on your property.

Full Debris Cleanup Included

We don’t blast and leave. All surface debris and spent media is cleaned up and hauled away as part of the job — not billed as an “extra.”

OSHA & EPA Compliant Operations

We run certified respirator systems, filtered air controls, and environmentally responsible debris disposal on every job, in line with OSHA abrasive blasting standards (29 CFR 1910.94) and EPA air quality standards.

Mobile-Only Service

We come to you — Starke, Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Gainesville, Orlando, Daytona Beach, and Brunswick, GA. There’s no shop to drop wood off at; the rig comes to your site. Read more About Us to see who’s behind the rig.

Got Questions?

Frequently Asked Questions

Will wood blasting damage my beams or ceiling?

Not when the media and pressure are matched to your wood species and surface condition. That’s exactly why we run a free test blast on your actual surface first — you see the real result before we touch the rest of the structure.

Yes. Wood blasting removes soot, char, and smoke staining from structural wood, exposing clean wood underneath so it’s ready for repair, re-staining, or sealing.

It handles much more than paint — stain, varnish, smoke and fire damage, weathering, and age-related discoloration all respond to the same process. We match the media and pressure to whatever’s on your surface, not just paint.

Both. We handle interior structural wood (beams, trusses, ceilings) and full exterior surfaces like log cabin siding and barn structures.

Once blasting is complete and debris is cleaned up, the surface is restored to bare wood and prepped for whatever finish comes next — stain, sealer, or paint.

No — we’re 100% mobile. We don’t operate a shop for drop-off blasting. Our rig comes to your location for furniture, structural wood, and everything in between. See our FAQs for more answers on pricing, timelines, and other surfaces we treat.
